Stop Common Core in Tennessee

Go away Common Core! You are not wanted in the state of Tn. Our children will not be your robots!

I am seeing HUGE gaps in Common Core. Tennessee you will pay more money than you received for adopting Common Core, to correct the damage. Please stop while we are ahead.

Do more to promote this petition & more to get the word out. Last week I got a Pro CC flyer in the mail. If they are spending that kind of money then we have to too!

There are many frustrations in dealing with Common Core, including extreme errors in the math curriculum, even on the teacher's answer key. I hope this curriculum is removed from our schools and a better choice for our children implemented.

I don't know what county you're from, but my grandson is in 4th grade & his homework is anything but pre-school level. He used to love school, but with Common Core he has no desire to learn. I've watch a brilliant child turn into a struggling child. We as grandparents, parents & teachers must put a stop to this!!!

Common Core is very confusing in the area of mathematics. It also includes materials that aren't age appropriate. Stop trying to teach our children three different ways to work the same math problem.

We do not need this corrupt history changing information pushed down our future generation to learn. Most of it is folk lore that has been dreamed by someone's grandmother.

What ever happen to true education? The facts and myth page under common core is very true. They want kids to dig deeper into stuff.....really they send home homework that is for pre-school kids. Red= red is happy, angry, heart, bloody..... Really this is fourth grade! What a joke!!!!!

Common core is bad

Common Core is much more than a set of standards that we keep hearing from some. It is a philosophy and a means to stream lining the educational industry into a one size fits all approach to learning. Testing is a major part of the concerns that states have and the fiscal commitment that it places on the states. If "standards" are truly the goal and improving the the direction of learning for our children, why would we not look at the standards that Massachusetts was using prior to Common Core? They have already been graded as higher than CC anyway. Dr. Sandra Stotsky placed these standards online for any state to view and use. You are also not bound to copyright infringements either.
