I am a stay at home mom that has watched the implementation of CC in the top public schools in Davidson county. I will be homeschooling next year for many reasons but the primary reason is to avoid this communism and its lack of intellectual individualism. We, the people, are in control of the education of children, not the federal government. Obviously these politicians have gained an anti-American, anti-civilian and narcissism that needs to be wiped out of this State. I will continue to fight against CC despite the fact I will be homeschooling because our Future Generation is at stake.

The "Common Core" standards are ill conceived and should not be implemented in Tennessee.

I have seen first hand what these standards do in a school and it's not pretty! Common Core eliminates parental choice and responsibilities and replaces it with goverment control. There are teachers leaving the profession they love because they don't want to have anything to do with this. There are parents who are turning to homeschooling because they don't want their kids having their individuality snuffed out!

Each time we have a new election the Federal government comes in with its "bias political view" and then goes into the schools and begins "their" so called grandiose idea on how to brain wash the children into their twisted political web. School should be all about learning to read words, to think for them selves, to get excited about math and science and know the history of the world and their Country. They need to be guided by the golden Rule - not politics- on how to interact with others. Shoving political thought and political correctness down their throats deprives them lessons learned the hard way so they can also learn how to reason how to correct any wrongs or how to move forward to being an even better person. Fo so long the left has confused the need to learn respect and manners with political correctness...this has gone beyond to far. Get out of this before it is too late and all we end up with are a bunch of zombies. Patricia Wallace

Common Core is a subversive program designed to brain wash our children and to make them bias in their thinking concerning t social issues that make them tolerant of unamerican activities.

We already have too much governmental control in the U.S. - we do not need the government to be in control of our school children!

Are we really teaching our children to truly LEARN? Or are we teaching them to take a test with common core? Do we challenge them to think independently and righteously? To TRULY understand their material? Does CC explore their passions & encourage development? From what I've heard...no

Public school has enough problems, don't add common core to the pile.

Please do not institute Common Core in Tennessee. I have been doing quite a bit or reading on this program and have concluded this program is bad news. Supposedly, we have a conservative governor and senators in the state, but true conservatives would never embrace this program. I recently was invited to renew my TN Republican party membership to continue the strong Republic leadership. If they want my continued support, they'd better start leading! No more fancy programs which so not work, Mr. Alexander. Master Teacher was a sore disappointment; let's learn from our mistakes.

Stop Common Core. I am appalled how it's changing literature and what Highschool students read. Most are not acceptable in my family's book.

I have experienced that common core cookie cutter model stifles creativity for the teacher and the student...taking the joy and motivation out of the learning experience.

Common core is not a way to go. We teach to test to much. Get back to the basics and build on them.

I see this already negatively affecting teachers and students. Please stop Common Core!
