Children are supposed to go to school to learn not be forced to do work to get a teacher a bonus or assure the teachers a job. The children are upset because they don't understand the pressures placed on them by teachers to perform like circus monkeys! They are supposed to LEARN only!

From everything I have seen having to do with common core, I DO NOT think it is in the best interest of students. It is "dumbing down" students. NOT preparing them for college.

Common Core is making it very challenging for my kids to learn, and they aren't learning as quickly. It is a stupid method, the old way worked just fine, and millions of people learned the old way and turned out just fine. My 2nd grade daughter is struggling. My 5th grade daughter is not even taught social studies at her school anymore, a packet is just sent home for her to self learn. Pathetic Tennessee!! No wonder we have the worst scores, and the scores aren't going to get any better with Common Core.

Common Core is making it extremely hard for my grandkids to learn anything. One of my grandchildren has gone from A and B honor roll and loving school , to C's and not liking school anymore. My grandkids get upset cause it is so confusing to them and the parents. Please DO AWAY with the Common Core teaching.

After 3 children have gone through the TN public school system and I have seen the great things that have come to them for the hard work and the great teachers as they are now in college, I am concerned for my 3rd grader. This Common Core crap is for the birds! Teachers being forced to teach over the course of 9 month for a one week test is stupid! The Reading book is asinine and the bouncing around in subjects is silly. There is confusing and struggling that I didn't see with my older kids as jr/sr's in HS taking honors and dual credit classes. Why does my 9 yr old have more HW than they did??? Someone get a clue before we are all forced to homeschool!

I do not agree with Common Core and what it teaches. I love our public school, but if Common Core comes to it, we will pull our kid out. Period.
