This ts too rediculous to discuss, when the people that are in education KNOW"S something is wrong, then something is wrong! The student's know it's wrong, it is damaging all the good that has been done for years, why don't you people understand that the government and all that are involved in this know it has not been tested or approved, then leave it alone. You can't fix something that isn't broken.

Common core is unfair to our children and teachers! There have been no positive results from it this far. Our kids are clueless and our teachers are frustrated!

Common core must be stopped. It is nothing more than an attempt by the US government to completely control public education.

I suffered through "new math" as a child in the 70s. It is back with common core. I do not want to see students go through that again. It was very confusing,

Our children should not be reading about violence and pornography this should not be what our children read. I have 5 small children and I should have a say in what is appropriate for them. This is what happens when you take god out of schools.

No American student should be exposed to the agenda that "Common Core" represents.

Stop Common Core! This has created unacceptable standards & pressure on students & teachers which is unrealistic & eliminates the no child left behind standard where the children who truly need help has it available. With Common Core the teachers are so overwhelmed the children who desperately need help cannot, do not & will not receive the help they need to excel. STOP COMMON CORE practices!!!

Common Core is the worst thing to happen to education in the history of this state. Get rid of it.

I am disappointed with my child's education under Common Core. I have watched my her excitement about school and passion for learning dwindle to practically nothing since common core standards and methods were implemented. Each morning starts with tears as she dreads another day of endless scripted writing and formulaic analyzing. She's bored, uninspired, exhausted, and stifled. My child's education should be so much more than this.

Common core takes a small idea which could be good for a few students, in a few subjects, and expands it to an absurd degree. The main skill (Rearranging a text which has been carefully expurgated of controversial and thought provoking ideas) will not inspire students, it will only bore them. Though it may be a reasonable approach to teaching students to write research papers, it will not be effective in teaching them science facts, math skills, or artistic creativity. Furthermore, since the texts which I have seen so far are rife with grammatical errors and are generally poorly written, we are likely to reduce the ability of students to recognize errors. I foresee declining TCAP scores. I also foresee officials blaming declining TCAP scores on the students, the parents, or even the teachers - but never on this stupidity.

As a parent with a child with learning disabilities, Common Core is doing nothing more than destroying his self esteem. He gets home and had a rediculious about of homework. He has no time to be a child. I can't help him because the way I was taught is not good enough. I take 2 steps to answer a question and he has to take 90. He struggled enough before Common Core. He now has to work 100 times harder. Common Core doesn't work with LD kids. Even kids that had straight A's are bringing home lower grades. He now has 4 days of tutoring on top of school and hours of homework. Get to bed on time...ha we are to busy doing homework!!!

Either Common Core STANDARDS are repealed or there will be a lot of legislators that will not be returning to Nashville in 2015 and that includes Governor Haslam. We are organized and we are ready to take action.

I would like the evaluations to reflect what the teachers actually do in the classroom rather than the scores that students might make on a very slanted test. I would like the VAM measure of teacher effectiveness to be a public formula rather than a hush hush secret formula that is designed to discredit and devalue the hard work that dedicated professionals undertake every single day with children whose lives are impacted by poverty, parents who are on drugs, in jail, or work 2 jobs without time to actually parent. I as a teacher would like to be treated with dignity and respect by the current administration.
