Stop Common Core in Tennessee

MY GRANDSON HAS ADHD AND COMMON CORE REALLY SUX FOR THESE KIDS!!!

Needs to be done.

The thought of a national education standard in this country is scary. How can the Federal government institute such a standard when it is being accused of aiding and abetting illegal immigrants into this country.; when government agencies such as the IRS target and harass specific groups; when federal spending is out of control. Common Core has no Constitutionality. No where in the Constitution does it state that the Federal government extends authority in education---thus Common Core is unconstitutional.

Common Core is the worst fad this government has visited upon our children and my grandchildren. It twists history and generally dumbs down our students. Cancel it now.

Such a program has NO Constitutional base. Each States are responsible for the curriculum to be used. This curriculum was developed without ANY input from States by those who want to change history and the attitudes of our youth so as to weaken the rights of individuals and create a Central Government that the people are totally dependent upon. It has all the indicators of a movement to create a Communist Nation, especially the fact that those who are promoting this project are set up to receive great monetary rewards.

Our public schools should be solely controlled at the State and Local level. The more control at the local level, the better.

STOP THE DUMBING DOWN OF OUR YOUTH

When you go around the state legislature to get something as big as this implemented... how is that state-led? Our kids are "learning to test" instead of creative learning.

Common Core is a race to the bottom and is chock full of data mining of our next generation. This indoctrination must stop now. Our next generation needs to learn how to learn not regurgitate a false history. The real story of mankind is at stake.

Common core is not size fits all program.my son is the 3rd grade . He had been a straight A student since he started school the first grade period of this year he had alot of problems with the new common core. So i took him out of public school.and will not put him back unless it changes. If not he will stay in private school.

I'm a school board member in Tennessee. We have been told common core is here and is not going away so deal with it. Parents, you need to stand up and fight this if anything is to happen. And I mean we need tens of thousands of parents fighting this in Nashville with their state reps.

Standards do not change outcomes, research published in 2009 shows this.

As a former teacher, I can attest to the nonsense notions behind common core. It is 100% for bean-counters and political lackies looking for power; it does NOTHING to enable teachers to cultivate competent students. It has "FAIL" written all over it. Any intelligent person can see this... maybe that's why it's so precious to school admins and stare and federal legislators.

Common Core is bad for so many reasons and if it is not stopped, IN TOTAL, we, the voters, will make sure your political careers are stopped in the next elections!!!!!!!!

my child"s math grade with common core,63.. Without common core, 87. Tell me how this is helping. If teacher's salary are going to depend on student test scores, most will be out of a job in a year.
