This is not helping my child. Common core is hurting my child's self-esteem. And make a happy, bright child feel overwhelmed and uninterested in learning at all.

Study the real reason the Governor wants common care in our schools, Bill Gates spent millions to induce this on our own kids, to basically DUMB THEM DOWN!! And he may be giving Governors incentives to do this, it has been reported that Governor Bill Harlem has close ties with Bill Gates and is very much a Common core supporter . Randy Boyd as it appears has close ties to haslam , and regardless of what Boyd says, he will probably pull the old, let change the name and a few rules like Haslam did. BE CAREFUL OF ANY GOVERNOR, despite what they say, POLITICIANS or strategically placed by people with big money, It pays do, in depth research on all candidates.

My daughter cries everytime she has math homework because she does not understand it. I can't help her because I don't understand it. Please stop torturing our children with common core!!!

This curriculum is ridiculous especially for a 3rd grader. Parents and, children have the right to choose between general math and the common core curriculum. This work is not explained well enough during school hours, which forces the parents, and grand parents as well as the students to spemd hours at home doiing hours of homework that should be done, and taught at school by qualified teachers, rather than at home with uneducated. Parents,and children, who are clueless as to how to break this sutbject matter down with so many. Complicated steps, taking up valuable/ important family time. SCOOL IS FOR SCHOOL, IF DONE PROPERLY THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR HOURS OF USELESS HOME WORK.

My child is not learning the basics nor is a foundation being set for him to use going forward in his educational journey. I am frustrated one I cannot help him with work he brings home and two when I ask for help from the school system they blame my child for not performing to their standards.

This is an utterly ridiculous and useless method. I cannot help my child with his homework because I was not taught common core math! Bring back traditional math to our schools!!!!!!!

The conventionofstates.com is a project focusing on a runaway federal government and they have a position paper on the Common Core Standards because CC is worse than Obamacare. I believe this is the best example of total government control that I have seen in a long time. I suggest you sign COS' petition, too. There can never be enough organizations working against a runaway government.

As a trained educator who has worked in several states over the years and seen the gradual devastation of what were education standards and educators who helped us create the generation that put us on the moon first, I see Common Core as an assault on local control of education that historically has kept educators and students at top levels and in synch with needs of local and larger communities. We need to tell the federal government to get out of the education business, the state government to listen to the educational needs and direction within its own borders, and local governments and citizen/parents to be involved in the education of our children, including teaching the very best reading skills, phonics based, and the principles that established the Constitution and our republic as the most amazing citizen based government ever conceived.

We need to tell the federal government to get out of the education business, the state government to listen to the educational needs and direction within its own borders, and local governments and citizen/parents to be involved in the education of our children, including teaching the very best reading skills, phonics based, and the principles that established the Constitution and our republic as the most amazing citizen based government ever conceived.

My daughter is only in the 1st grade and this is ridiculous!!!! We can't even master the basic fundamentals of math before they are asked to solve word problems using addition facts to solve subtraction problems.....then show the answer in a ten frame, graph it and write the equation. I feel like we have been barely hanging on all year and she is a very intelligent child. Her grades all literally all over the place and she gets so disappointed. Her first two years of school should NOT have been this stressful. Her entre class is struggling as well as every other child we are around at church. I am afraid that by the time they get rid of Common Core, our kids just starting out will be so confused and messed up they will REALLY be behind. I don't like the feeling that we just BARELY know enough before moving on, and it scares me to death to think of what next year will be like.
