I have two children in high school and these changes to the curriculum because of common core are killing their grades. You can't change the way kids learn and test midstream!!

At the very least I would like to see 1. The common core state standards lowered to a reasonable level consistant with the history of the US Education system. 2. The sharing of student data with any government or private entity to cease.

This system does not work . Our children are being pushed and this add stress to what should be enjoyable. Our children like learn . We as parents are standing strong together to get this change for our children and teachers. They deserve to learn not to be force above their limits . Nothing good will come from this. Not all children learning the same time frame. Let them learn but at their individual time frame

The skills expected of our children through common core are NOT developmentally appropriate! Please reconsider!

Common core is developmentally inappropriate as it involves such abstract, high ordered mind process that doesn't match what is best practice to meet the learning needs of young children, particularly in elementary school..Young minds need to have instruction that puts the emphasis on multisensory approach with differentiation so the individual needs of the child comes before how they perform on one state test. A state test ought never dictate if a child can be promoted or not..it's completely illogical. Teachers are forced to teach to a test, which is confining to their profession. Test prep is in full gear now in March, and teachers are having children conform to a rigid way of performing, rather then creative learning.. Learning is supposed to be spontaneous and rewarding and flexibile, not confining and limiting..Our children deserve better and we demand freedom for teachers to teach how they wish in their professional judgement. Government must not take over how kids are to be tested. We pay taxes as parents to a system that is supposed to afford real teaching with results of real learning..Common core is showing to already be effecting our kids negatively..many parents are yanking their kids out of public schools to homeschool for the reasons that we want to individualize instruction. This is pronounced for kids with Learning differences , as they suffer with increased school refusal and low self esteem because they just are NOT able to learn the way common core dictates. This is a very sad state of affairs..we pay taxes, we demand choice and teacher methodologies they choose, not our government. Please put an end to this atrocity, and let's treat our future generation to the education they so deserve and require. Thank you.

I was a proponent of Common Core until I got to know it. As a father of 4 young children, I have directly seen the profound negative impact which the roll-out of Common Core has had upon my children's education. If this is indicative of the future than the future is grim. Common Core must be repealed. -Ben Murphy (Fairport, NY)

My son is in 6th grade and his math homework amounts to analysis of equations rather than solving a problem. This is absolutely ridiculous!

my daughter and my nephew are having some serious problems due to this nonsense, along with three quarters of there classmates. We should be happy to have our children got to school and finish, and school is hard enough the nonsense needs to stop. Stop messing up our schools.

This is an utter disaster!!! This is NOT a proven way of learning and I do NOT want my kids being the guinea pigs only to find out it does not work when it is too late! Stop Common Core Now!!!

The "new" way to learn things makes it so much more complicated and just simply confuses the children even more....my youngest has nothing but problems with this stuff.

My son is failing when he was doing great last year. He is in 3rd grade doing 5th grade work. He is depressed, refuses to do the work. Cries at night, because it's too hard. Why are you hurting the children when you should be helping them. My child has a learning disability as it is in school, now he feels helpless and a failure. Last when he was passing, because the teachers were actually showing him how to do the work, now this year, no one helps him and he's failing and most likely will be left back. NOTHING was wrong with the other way of learning. My child doesn't even want to go to school anymore, how is that teaching these children the new common core, so they are ready for college, when they don't even want to go to school anymore, let alone want to go to college now. This is sad, and I feel this common core should stop. Your hurting the children and the meaning of learning.

Don't let your country be an example of what happens when good people do nothing to stop bad things from happening.

Too much government intrusion, too much testing, too much child information going to those who need not know. Keep teaching our children on a local level.
