My son has Autism and is in special ed. He can NOT handle this way of learning. My friends children do not have any delays and they are just as frustrated. Enough is ENOUGH!!! Let these kids learn the way we did. This is hurting them, not helping.

Please,stop common core.my son's brain is being pressured so much ,it's one subject after the other for homework when he comes home.There's no time to for him to really learn what he's doing.He just hurry up to get it over with because there's so much to do in one subject.Homework and school learning should make the kids enjoy wanting to learn and succeed.But this is the total opposite.By the way,every politician,lawyers,teeachers and everyone became someone in the 1990,1980,2000,etc without common core.

I'm currently a high school student, and I have to say, that I think Common Core must be abolished. It strips creativity away from students, there's way too much testing, and it makes students and teachers look bad, just because of a test. In addition, the state shouldn't have control over what we learn. We shouldn't be forced to learn things that aren't useful for the real world. Common Core was made by people who think we're robots and probably aren't educated themselves. I support this petition, and let's abandon Common Core, as it is toxic to students and teachers. Stop the abuse, we want to learn for real, not be taught to the test. Spread the word on this petition!

I can't help my grandchildren with their homework. I raised three children and one is a math teacher. I never had a problem helping them with their math problems. Children learn by memorization from the moment they are born when parents sing the same songs,repeat the same words and later as they grow to toddlers, they take great comfort in repetition. Memorizing the times table makes far more sense, considering children learn this way from birth to school age.

My son is 16 yrs and has taken 9th math 3 times because he does don't understand the new math. Before common core math was introduced he carried a B average.

there is no use in common core math. my son is in 5th grade i can cant help him with his homework because in my day 2+2 =4. now there is a process to get to the answer. there is no reason to make this math so difficult.

Its all math, what happened to other subjects? They teach the kids so many different ways my child is lost. But when I teach her the standard way she gets it everytime. Let our teachers teach!

Its hurting our children, our families, and our schools. Everyone is frustrated: parents, teachers, and children. Its ruining the children's self esteem, even the kids with no learning diabilities are struggling. Imagine the kids with the disabilities!

CC should be considered a form of child abuse. It is mentally abusive to the children and frastrating to the parents. We feel that cildren are tought at home and get tested at school.
