Common Core is a horrible way of teaching math. My son seems to learn way better when I show him that 2 apples plus 2 apples equals 4 apples instead of this number bond crap!

Stop using my kids as an experiment! This CCC is confusing for them. My husband and I cannot understand what the directions are asking them to do! Very difficult and maybe Cuomo should try to do it himself first before implementing this torture on our children.

Common Core has everything to do with politics, and nothing to do with educating children in ways already proven to be successful. It is nothing short of social engineering. It violates our Constitutional Right to privacy, by the Federal Government collecting all kinds of private information on school children. Educators had no say in its' implementation.

Common core math is the absolute worst thing you can do to students beyond the basic math level. My daughter is frustrated thus making me frustrated. I can no longer help her with her homework without help from another source. I showed her how to find the answer to a problem requiring to calculate percents of a number. The old way is faster and simpler, the common core way requires diagrams and the sort. I wonder if you could stand in line at a store and have time to diagram percents when you need to find out how you're actually saving.

My 4 yr old prek is doing common core. This is outrageous and disgusting. She is a pre-reading level and is expected to know how to do word problems instead of simple math that we learned. It needs to GO!

Common core garbage has my 8 year old frustrated!!! 8+5=13!!!! I should NOT have to use 8+_= 10, 5-_=3, 10+3=13.........NOT teaching my child this BS method!!!!!!

Common Core is turning simple equations into problems that take hours to solve with sometimes hundreds of steps. It is insane and basic multiplication and division is no longer taught. Please pay attention to what your children are being taught because it does not make any sense.

Why does it take 3 or more steps when all they have to do is learn the multiplication table? Every night, homework is getting more and more stressful. Engageny.org is a waste also, not a help at all. We must get rid of this before our kids fall behind even more.
