As a public school teacher, I am vehemently opposed to the Common Core on every level. It is not developmentally appropriate and the only individuals who stand to benefit are the folks churning out "educational" materials.

My feelings on common core is it suits certain children. But what about the one's that do outstanding performance in other classes and can't even get help in theone subject that they don't excel in their is no help in public schools.

My grandchildren struggle so much with this math and many of the teachers cannot seem to help them or take the time to do it! How does this stupid New York State expect our children to get better grades with a worthless type of math such as this. We the people should strike against New York State and keep all of our kids out of school for one day and then maybe these so called self righteous politicians will listen. We need to march on the state capital!

Common Core is stressful to teachers, parents, and students. Students should get a regular diploma or a GED when they graduate high school and teach children proper etiquette and manners to respect one another.
