I'm a welder that deals with math and fractions all day. My son is in second grade and I'm having trouble understanding what he's trying to explain. How am I suppose to help my son if he needs help, if I don't know how to help him. Common core needs to go!

Who thought this style of math was good for anything other than taking a very simple math problem and turning it into a mass of confusion with no practicle purpose at all? This is redicous and useless and a waste of valuable time. Was there something wrong with subtracting 51-9 the old way? Why the need to force kids to reference 7 other steps to get the answer?

It's a mess !! This life is rough enough for these kids today , why make life more difficult?
My granddaughter is in 2 be grade n they what parents/caregivers to go up to the school n take a class to help our kids with math.. are they serious? I am sick of it.. # Brokesystem

im 50 and I don't understand the concept of making things more difficult for these poor children to learn.. Learning is to be fun not frustrating.
