As I understand it this is not a decision the tennis club can make, it would be a Trust issue. It is our car park for our use and will be full of school traffic a fair percentage of the day when members want to use it so not a good idea in my view, especially after the agression of those parents recently.

The CEP car park is for all clubs, Tennis have no right to decide who uses it

This is a very bad idea and one that will lead to future problems

I am appalled at how the committee think they have any right to give our car parks away I expect them to apologise unreservedly and the say to Northgate School immediately that they have no power to give away our car parks and withdraw the offer immediately

If they want to park on the tennis club grounds, then they need to join the tennis club. Can I park in the Working Men's club car park near the town. um no. That' because I don't belong to the Working Men's club. Quite simple really.

I can see no reason for this offer. What will the tennis club gain from it.When the parking was last available to them they parked all over the grass verges and Andy was extremely annoyed at the mess they made Parking around the school is also at between 12 and 1pm for nursery. ..In view of .what happened to Matt and Mark I do not think we should let these people in and create more worry for Matt. Wouldn't insurance also be a problem.?

If this proposition goes through, where do we (club members) park our cars at school pick-up times?

This could never be policed and could end in more disaster for relations between school and club.

Good legal points ..........but let us go one step further and ....here I repeat myself...I am allowed to as I am over 60..... Shut both gates with a loose heavy chain and put up another notice for the " lower car park" stating Private parking for members only....SORTED !.... Northgate parents ALREADY have the whole Silver Leys car park and a dedicated lollipop crossing only 7 minutes from the school......Nuff said, ggrrrr !

Totally agree....you have a every reason to feel angry at this stupid proposal....ex parent of school and member of the police your comments have clout . It should be noted that parents at Northgate have full use of the Silver Leys car park replete with a lollipop lady to see them along this 7 minute exhausting journey to school.....but that is too far away.......? From the words of a famous court case..." Stupid, stupid , stupid !.....the case rests !

I hope the committee have a good read of this discussion, as it's completely inappropriate and downright insulting that they even consider this action when you take into account the assault on our head coach and Mark by parents of kids who attend the very school they are considering giving FREE parking access to! Let alone all the other problems it will create! Disgraceful and disappointing!

This should not be considered without a legal agreement in place. We must keep control of our facilities, working with the school is important and I would want the club to reach an agreement if I was a parent at the school. However, there should be a charge so that the club benefit. The upkeep of the grass verges and Tarmac is to be considered. Time limits in place so that we don't get more dog walkers, etc. The lady that assaulted Matt should be banned. We want to keep our premises safe.

Any member who has tried to drive out of the car park at 3pm will know that they are unable to make it to the exit due to the flood of cars already pushing in for school pick up....why exacerbate an already problematic situation by opening it up.to school parents....some of whom can be very rude and aggressive. I suggest we adopt the same method as with the clay courts....keep the gates closed with a heavy loop chain(not locked) and a big clear sign saying private no parking......we pay a substantial subscription and part of this should ensure we have easy and aggression free parking.

What about parents' evenings and other events at the school such as special assemblies, schools fayres, Christmas shows, etc. etc. Open to abuse on so many fronts.

Parents, dog walkers and those that use the club already use the bottom car park. But I agree they the school should not be allowed permission to use our car park at top.

Disgraceful. The Committee really needs to think about the consequences of their actions.

If you give permission for parking to parents of Northgate School and an accident occurs in the BSLTC tennis car park we will be responsible and I do not think this is acceptable. I am therefore in favour of keeping the car park for use by the tennis club only and we will know where we are with public liabilities. This free access is an insult to our respected coach who was threatened and assaulted!!
