as of February 19, 2026, the FAA identifies TWO active hot spots at Palomar Airport: Hot Spot 1 (HS1): The control tower has difficulty seeing small aircraft when large jets are parked nearby. Hot Spot 2 (HS2): Pilots exiting Runway 24 at Taxiway A4. Hot spots remain on FAA airport diagrams until they are fully mitigated. In other words, these are UNRESOLVED SAFETY concerns. The FAA's "Hot Spot" list is not a list any airport should be on. Palomar Airport should be SAFE -- NO Flights in or out ...

I am for a safe airport with quiet hours. Without big jets. This respects the right of all citizens for a safe home environment without add'l toxins, noise and concern for accidents.

Palomar Airport has gotten far too big. It was never intended for planes of this size and at all hours!

Way too many planes! It wakes me up at night and early AM like 5AM!!! I’m sick of the Airport I lived in Carlsbad before this annoying nuisance and terrible loud jets and the pollution it’s creating in my beautiful South Carlsbad! We deserve to have quiet hours and not a major airport that’s waiting for the accident to happen!

I think the airport should be shut down. It is not safe for the current flights of commercial aircraft, the small planes are a risk, known for high frequency of crashes. Plus the airport is losing $1M per year our tax dollars to keep the airport operating

No expansion -- it is noisy already

I vehemently oppose the expansion of McClellan Palomar airport. The increase of capacity and safety are major factors particularly due to the adjacency to commercial and residential areas. I live directly under the flight path and consistently see many aircraft well below the FAA requirements for altitude on approach. I can see the undercarriage and landing gear when I’m at my community center pool. And they’re even lower as they fly over my property. This is not acceptable and should be treated as a gross violation. But with the county support because they don’t want to expand SAN or lose revenue from the airlines it seems like they will push it through and ask forgiveness when some bad pilot decisions plow into a house or warehouse en route. Especially in inclement conditions.

Airport should remain small! City of Carlsbad needs to get involved and stop this NOW. Allowing more commercial flights gets SD County one step closer to their endgame, an extended runway. Extended runway = another John Wayne airport. We don’t want another John Wayne airport here!

I SUPPORT NO big commercial jets, NO low-flying noisy and polluting planes over homes and schools, and NO all-night air freight!

The County is trying to force a commercial airport here thereby destroying our beach town atmosphere that our economy depends on.

No airport expansion. Stop terrorizing residents of Carlsbad and surrounding areas. The airports should never be in the middle of hundreds of of neighborhoods

Please keep the airport as it was designed for years ago. The safety, noise and pollution keeps increasing every year as well as the land traffic to and from the airport. The airport is too small to accommodate the larger planes with additional flights.

Please do not allow any more aircraft in this small airport. This is affecting the people's health with noise, pollution, and air pollution.
