Yes we need to stop those flights. San Diego can not make all decisions by themselves. It is part of Carlsbad. It should be approved by city of Carlsbad and residents of Carlsbad.

To all of you people who couldn’t care less about the residents and more about money, shame on you. Thousands of us have lived in this area 20 plus years. We did our homework and this new way the airport operates wasn’t ever suppose to happen!! It is unsafe, a horrible amount of air pollution, noise pollution!!! The traffic up and down Palomar is ridiculous and down right dangerous! The greed is despicable!

A flight at 6 am (or earlier), is against normal peaceful hours that people should be able to enjoy. Adding the additional flights is only a money grab by the airlines involved. It adds more pollution in the vicinity, and goes against the City of Carlsbad's mandates.

This whole thing really stinks! Why is the County making deals with the airlines when the court has allegedly ruled that the city of Carlsbad has jurisdiction over Palomar Airport, not the County. It appears that the County Government (located far away from Palomar Airport) is implementing policy without the authority to do so. If Carlsbad does indeed have control over Palomar Airport, why aren’t they stepping up and taking charge?

The County is breaking the law and ignoring the concerns from the residents. The City of Carlsbad has final approval over McClellan-Palomar Airport via a Conditional Use Permit. Carlsbad Council -- Don't let the interests of these commercial entities trample our quality of life. Protect us from air and noise pollution. No more commercial flights and NO cargo planes (i.e. FedX).

I am an Escondido resident. This affects us as well over here. I live in the once quiet hills by the old Escondido CC. The planes make a turn roughly in our area over the hills and then reduce speed. We are in a constant flow of noise, heard both inside and outside. They must have increased the private jets ( gulf streams ) as well because our noise is a constant throughout the day. A significant difference over the years. We also were sold into the idea that the airport would always remain small with only a few flights a day, not so in this case.

Have you been hearing our 6am wake up calls from American Airlines? American has moved their early departure from Carlsbad to 6am, often leaving earlier than their scheduled time.
And it gets even worse - instead of 2 flights per day (2 arrivals, 2 departures), American is moving to 3 flights per day in early April and then 4 flights per day in mid-May. The 6am departure will remain. No sleep for us!
In addition to that, with the 6 new United flights starting at the end of March, we will have 10 flights total — 20 arrivals and departures every single day beginning at 6am with the last arrival at 10:30pm.
So much for the County’s promise of a two-year “test” limited to just 2 flights per day. Let’s be clear - the County doesn't care about the residents or our quality of life.

We moved to Carlsbad 2.5 years ago into our first home. We chose Carlsbad for the climate, its proximity to the ocean, the great schools for our kids, and the lovely neighborhood. Until recently, it felt like a dream come true. But now there is constant noise, with planes flying literally over our roof day and night. My husband works from home and has 3–5 meetings a day, and he often can’t hear anything because planes fly overhead every five minutes. This is a family suburb, not a place for large airplanes and nonstop noise 24/7. This needs to stop.

The air quality and noise control it's very important in the Carlsbad area for people in Oceanside and Encinitas and Vista to sleep and breathe clean air. Please restrict big airlines from flying in at all hours of the day and night and polluting the air. Thanks Mary Lucid

No big commercial jets. The airport has done absolutely nothing to alter the noise and air pollution coming from the airport. Jets fly all hours of the night and do not follow any type of quiet hours. We need local control of this airport.

I have spoken in front of the counsel, been told by the county that we would not be the next John Wayne, of course this is not the truth and it would be nice if the residents well being would be considered rather than cast aside. Thank you for taking on this fight to protect the citizens Carlsbad.

I believe in the rule of law. Somehow, the city of San Diego and/or the county of San Diego feel like they are above the law and are ignoring the court case that curtailed their efforts to change Palomar Airport. They need to be fined and get their hands off of the airport.
