Stop Business Encroachment in Residential Neighborhoods - 7190 Christopher Dr.

Hello neighbors. It has come to our attention that the home at 7190 has been purchased by a for profit corporation named Monte Nido. (Montenido.com)
Per the Monte Nido website:
Monte Nido provides individualized treatment expected of all of our programs, including:
- High levels of medical and psychiatric care, with 24-hour nursing, in the comfort of a home setting
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to address co-occurring PTSD in all programs, providing the ability to seamlessly continue this therapy through all levels of care
- Motivational enhancement approaches to support behavior change, 12-step meetings and sober living aftercare options with co-occurring substance use disorders
- Nutritional programming that meets differing nutritional needs
- Skills development through evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- High staff-to-client ratio and comprehensive discharge planning
While are not unsympathetic to the nature of the treatment to be provided and those who need it. We do have great concern over a commercial business being run in a residential area.
- Per Monte Nido's website, 8-12 clients would live in the rehab home for 1-3 months. THIS IS NOT A LONG TERM RESIDENTIAL HOME OR GROUP HOME.
-Monte Nido encourages client visitors and family therapy as part of their client's recovery. This will mean that hundreds of people annually will be coming to our neighborhood who do not reside here or call this community home.
-Monte Nido has a large and varied staff, including therapists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, fitness trainers and vendors. There will be increased traffic activity in this area to support their services.
Now is not the time to be apathetic. The law is about precedence and if Monte Nido is allowed to run a business in this residential area, your street or subdivision could be next.

I am gathering all the zoning documents now. This commercial conversion simply does not belong in our residential streets.

I have lived off of Christopher Road for 32 years. This is a quiet residential area that I never imagined could be turned into commercial property by sneaking in the Monte Nido business without our knowledge or permission. I thought we had some rights against this.
I'm opposed to a commercial business in a single family residence community Also putting in parking spots for 31 vehicles does not sound like a group home. Something is fishy and needs to stop
I don't want a commercial business run so close to my home. Though I support the type of work Monte Nido provides, as a parent of four small children, I don't think its appropriate for a residential area with kids, etc. nearby to have this type of business so close.
Christopher Dr is too narrow and windy to have even more traffic. There is also a lot of people that have to walk on the side of the road due to no sidewalks. For the safety of local residents, please do not allow this business to move in!
These types of places in residential areas, are problems! I personally know this because I have a mentally ill sister who was put in one of these type of homes, that was through Center pointe hospital. They take the peoples disability checks and give them government food. They double dip the system!!!!
NOT IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD!
I am sympathetic to the mission of this organization, our adult mentally retarded daughter lives in a group home in Godfrey, IL. However, her group home is standing independently on 200 acres. There are no subdivisions on the 200 acres. Find somewhere more suitable for this kind of business. Don't plop into a residential subdivision.

I am a nurse and feel our mental health care needs to be overhauled and improved tremendously. But I also feel that a treatment center does NOT need to be placed in the middle of a residential area !!!!!!!!! Too many issues that can arise from this!
