Craftsman homes cannot be compared to traditional brick homes and should not be restricted to the same rules. People chose this community exactly for the reason you are denying the paint colors ‘individuality’. An HOA should enhance neighborhoods not restrict them.

Agree that this style home is completely different than my all brick home. The style is not meant to follow the same as mine.

SBR is forcing their homeowners into a position where the look of their homes is cookie cutter and aged. No one seems to be making any effort to keep the neighborhoods fresh and relevant for potential buyers. This is only going to hurt home owners and the community in the long run...

We live in Mayberry. I agree. We lived in Michigan where craftsman homes are the style. Especially for new homes. There are many 3 paint pallets and a quick internet search will show that. I understand rules are there to keep people from painting their houses obnoxious colors, but that is unlikely. A freshly, professionally painted craftsman home makes the whole neighborhood look good and adds to the great community feel of our streets. Also, color pallets change. What was good for a brick home in 2004 is not what’s good now for our craftsman homes.

When I purchased my home we used a historic color consultant and changed the color scheme of our home from 2 colors to 4 colors that were all approved by the HOA. To preserve the unique features of our craftsmen style homes I fully support allowing multiple colors on our homes.
