We NEED tougher abuse/neglect penalties! The majority of adults commiting violent crimes started out abusing, torturing and killing animals. And I won't even get started on the idiots who think they get rich by training and fighting dogs.
Animal cruelty laws need to be much tougher. Make the penalty include a stay in jail PLUS a fine PER animal abused.
Animal cruelty has to stop and stop Now they are like family if you can't take care of them then dont get one.
Please bring our laws in line with the crime . All our animals need us to stand up for those with no voice . Thank you.
We need stronger anti cruelty laws to deter the criminals, punish those who abyse animals, and to demonstrate that we are a state that won't tolerate such cruelty.

Pets are domesticated and have become to much a part of human life and interaction that anyone knowingly hurts one should be treated as though the animal is a person.
