Hi,
Braila is a city situated in south-east of Romania and is one of the many cities near the Danube, on the way to Danube’s Delta and the west shore of the Black Sea.
In 2016 the current mayor of Braila promised he will start in 2017 the works for stage I of the bicycle infrastructure (i.e. bike lanes, traffic lights, signs etc.). But at the moment nothing was started and actually the mayor reduced the plan for bike infrastructure to only 6,3 km, from which 3km are planned now in a park and the rest of 3,3 km on city hall’s street. I attached the photos with the original plan (stage I + stage II).
Moreover, the Eurovelo 6 bike path from Atlantic to Black Sea passes through Braila in its last stage before ending in the Black Sea. This is another reason I want to make my dream come true and make Braila a bike friendly city.
Being born in Braila I started an online petition to raise signatures of local people but support from people that want to visit my city or maybe do the Eurovelo6 is kindly appreciated!

The growth of this movement has caught the attention of local urban planning officials who requested a summary of our specific infrastructure demands. I am currently finalizing a formal proposal packet that outlines the necessary connections for the Eurovelo 6 route within our city limits.

As a cyclist who as enjoyed following EuroVelo routes in Europe I welcome any additional traffic free sections
