The infamous Stanton Paxon Basketabll game is scheduled for this Saturday January 9th at 2:30 p.m.
With this petition we would like to show both schools' athletics and administration how big of a demand there is for the game to be at a later time, such as 5 p.m.
If the game were scheduled at such a time there would be not only a larger turn out but more overall hype for the game itself.
The argument for having the game at it currently scheduled time is that less security would have to be hired, as well as a lower chance of something bad happening as it has in previous years.
However, there will be more than enough revenue made from ticket sales to hire the extra security needed, and with this extra security as well as everyone's knowledge of the past events, there is actually a lower chance of anything of the sort happening again.
Again, the Stanton Paxon Basketball game is something that a lot of people look forward to all school year. In order for it to be the event that it is intended to be, we feel it should be held at a later time.

i cant believe how many people jumped on this today. this level of energy proves we really do deserve a better time slot for the big game.

ive been talking to a few people in the athletic office about the schedule and their main concern is honestly just the extra security costs. im still pushing them to look at the ticket revenue since we know how many people are actually going to show up if they push the tip off back.

My parents are free after 5 and will be able to drop me off if the game is scheduled for 7.
Stanton Paxon is the ultimate rivalry and it deserves to be held in the proper fashion so everyone can enjoy the game. Let's have it at a later time so we can continue our tradition and enjoy the game with our peers.
I am not trying to play in the model of the day it takes away from the tradition of the rivalry
I feel passionately about this game and would like it to be at 5:30 so I can watch it.
I have to work during the day, and I'm sure many of my peers may have to as well, so it would be great to have a later game.

The incident they keep referring to happened 2 years ago. There was no issue at the game last year, and that game was at night just like all the others. Therefore it's not the time of the event but the people that were present. Also if there is enough security then it wouldn't be a problem
