Stand up against Liberty University: Move LC graduation from May 7th

The students attend and are dedicated to LC. Why is this even a question of anything less than disrespect and disregard for a dedicated student body?

I'm just furious that all of our high schools and now Lynchburg College feel they need to take all our memories of where we went to school for 4 years and have our most special day in a strange place ... a place we never have been, a place with no memories, and a place where THEY tell us when we are gonna graduate !!! We all need to go back to the old school way... graduation needs to be held where our memories are at our own school.... wake up Ly

Really LC?! As an alum, I'm speechless. To not give students diplomas on the day of graduation when they have completed coursework is OBSURD! So what Liberty's graduation was scheduled the same day as LC's graduation. In the past, graduation day has been shared with colleges like Randolph and Sweet Briar and you didn't move it then!!! Why now? Give the students adequate time to study for finals.. Give the seniors their week to celebrate with each other before they go separate ways.. Give them their diplomas. Give them their graduation day, regardless who else celebrates that day, too!

Senior Week was a great way to say goodbye to friends you weren't going to see for a long time. Give them their chance to do the same.

I went to liberty university. I don't know what senior week includes but I don't want anyone to be deprived of great college memories. That is why I'm signing this for LC :)

This is terrible! My boyfriend is graduating this year and he deserves the same treatment as seniors in the past have!

We shouldn't have to move our graduation because liberty decided to have theirs the same week that we normally do. Liberty had already taken over the rest of the town, don't let them on our campus as well.

Make LU move over for someone else for once! The people of Lynchburg need to teach them that they can't just push everyone else out of their way to get what they want all the time.

Your problem isn't Liberty, it's your Preisdent's choice. I will sign this so you all can enjoy your school. You cannot be bitter about Liberty for something your president and cabinet decided.

Liberty does not own Lynchburg, VA, nor Lynchburg College. They cannot boss us around just because they have money. We have more history and integrity as an institution and community of alumni than Liberty does and we always will.
