Stand up against Liberty University: Move LC graduation from May 7th

LC should never bow down to LU. LU is big enough to not have to push this and back down from being a bully.

Class of '11, and I have a son graduating in this class. Four years to earn a diploma, and then not be able to receive it at graduation; that's absurd!!! Furthermore, it is totally unjustifiable to disrupt, inconvenience and deprive one set of comparable students to accommodate another. Liberty students are not superior to those at Lynchburg College; and therefore a more equitable resolution must be made.

I am signing this because I feel it is unfair to LC students to be deprived of study time and senior week, as well as for my not receiving my diploma as I walk across that stage. For the past few years Liberty has had theirs the week prior to LC. Why did that change? I understand the hotel scheduling issue, but is it fair to the senior class student body to now have to make these accommodations?

As an underclassman this is very frustrating for me, because I find the reading day before exams to be extremely helpful when I am studying for exams. Without it there is not enough time to study everything. There is barely enough time as it is.

As a parent of a student and someone who used to work at(not for) LC, I have seen many bad decisions being made over the last few years, but this is an absurd decision!! The Senior students nor their parents were never asked for their input on this matter, which in my opinion, shows a huge lack of respect and total disregard to all of us! The students have worked hard to earn their degrees and deserve to receive them AT graduation!! They also need Senior week to allow them time to decompress after finals and spend time with friends that they'll be saying Goodbye to! Come on LC, keep graduation on its original date!!!

The reason I am signing this petition is because I have a son graduating from medical school (DO school at VA TECH) on the 7th and a son getting his doctorate in Educational Leadership from LC. I also have a daughter-in-law getting her masters in school counseling from LC. Before this change, my LC kids were graduating on the 14th, so we would be able to attend all graduations. Now all graduations are at the same time in different cities. I would love for LC to go back to their original date of the 14th!!!!

I find it absurd that Lynchburg gives LU there way with out any sort of negotiation. LU taking over the entire city is getting rather old; we need to take a stand against LU. If we have graduation on the same day, lets just have our parents reserve hotels first we shouldn't have to be the ones to accommodate when there are so many traditions in place. This is simply unacceptable

LU ruined Lynchburg. The LC graduation should be as far removed as possible from the LU date. Give the LC students a break from the town being overrun by LU riff-raff.

why is it always Lynchburg College that has to give in?? Not fair to our seniors or the parents! I pay too much for my child to go the this great school not to see that diploma when they walk up to me after graduation!!!!!
