It's sad that,in order to be safe, we have to resort to being watched. A sign of the times l'm afraid.

As a woman, I am able to go out alone with less worry in the evening in towns with CCTV in place, this should be the case in all towns.

If we want to keep people safe and crime down we need all the deterrents we can use .Most places where CCTV is located it he has helped to reduce crime .

It should definitely be reinstated. As soon as possible. Why isn't it in place? What about the protection of civilians out late and also the protection of businesses and homes in the area?

I cannot believe with St Ives being the third largest holiday resort in the country not having CCTV is an absolute outrage our police station is closed we only have a few police officers nothing in comparison to the millions to visit our tiny town is too much vandalism and crime in the summer man to not have CCTV

Anecdotally the cameras reduced crime against vehicles in car parks which was vital to tourism.

I can't believe we have to sign a petition to get CCTV in our town, surely it's a no brainer? It's not like St Ives can't afford it with all the money that is made from the tourist seasons - this town is a circus.

We have antisocial behaviour in St. Ives. In order to prosecute this we need visual proof of who is committing these crimes. Please return our cctv cameras now!!

CCTV should be compulsory in towns & cities, especially with little police cover & shop owners livelihoods on the line from thieves & vandals.

With very little if any police presence in the town and considering the amount of people that pass through during the summer months. Surely this can offer at least some protection for the town.

Much needed in St Ives

St Ives is a prime tourist attraction, generating much needed revenue for the council, where visitors, holidaymakers, traders and residents need to feel safeguarded. We must be enhancing the experience (CCTV, keeping loos open, plenty of rubbish bins), not reducing it

To allow the police to monitor shoplifters during the day and anti-social behaviour at night
