St. Andrew's students are looking to make a big impact on the Chesapeake Bay. We are making this petition to hopefully have the government fund the creation and maintenance of oyster beds. Now you may be asking, why oysters? Well, oysters help filter the water of the bay. Also, oysters will help stop the spread of algae blooms, and when algae dies, it emits greenhouse gasses, which harms our atmosphere. The planting of oyster beds will also help our local economy. As you can see, oysters are an important part of the future of the Chesapeake Bay.

When I was a boy and I couldn't swim and I fell off my dock, then the oysters lifted me back to life. Ever since I have devoted my life to the oysters.
