The administration finally backed down and opened the lot for our kids to play. We forced them to put our children ahead of their parking convenience and they had no other choice. Keep your eyes open to ensure they actually follow through on this promise.

Bishop DiMarzio will be joining Saint Saviour for mass this Sunday, March 20th at 11 AM. Please show your support by signing this petition which will be given to him.
The purpose of this petition is to express our dismay at Fr. Frank's refusal to allow the children of SSCA to play in the "parking lot" adjacent to the school. The younger grades only have use of a small courtyard which was provided in exchange for the use of the parking lot years ago. The older students are currently playing on a sidewalk near a busy street and avenue where ambulances, pedestrians and moving vehicles pose a danger. Alternately, (time, weather and chaperones permitting) the use of Prospect Park is an alternative – otherwise the children stay indoors and use the gym.
Shouldn't our tuition afford our children the option of a safe outdoor play space whether they are in K or 8? Shouldn't our children be prioritized over the luxury (and rare convenience) of parking? Isn't there a way to allow parking and a play space until another viable option comes to fruition?
We respectfully request that the Board, Principal, Pastor and Bishop work diligently to reconsider this position and provide an acceptable solution.
Our faith teaches us to compromise and sacrifice - our children are worth it.

The momentum behind this petition proves that we refuse to let Fr. Frank treat our children like an afterthought. Bishop DiMarzio needs to see that we are not backing down until our kids get the safe space they deserve instead of a parking lot.

As a parent for over 6 years at St Saviours, the lack of outdoor space has always been a concern. Where our students get a chance to take advantage of the schools proximity to the park, I am aware that they feel constrained and would like to go a place, next to their school. Please reconsider this request and help keep St Saviours competitive. Thank you.
It is not safe for our children from St Saviour Catholic Academy to be playing on the sidewalk, when we have a nice space behind the school.
The parking lot is a great space for the children of SSCA to play. I agree that the children's safety should take precedent over parking.
Show our children how it is to be like Christ and give them your parking space. Your gesture will open their entire Catholic school experience in immeasurable ways.
As the parent of two active boys I know how valuable outdoor time is to their bodies and minds. Parking is a luxury, but the safety and health of our children is a priority.
The parents have been marginalized and those who suffer are the children. The Board, Clergy and Faculty are proud of the work they do to serve their own needs and not protect their flock. May the Lord be with you during this Easter season and may you in positions of authority repent for your sins and unwillingness to listen.
The kids should be allowed to share that space so they can be safe and enjoy being outside. Please be Christian and reconsider.

There must be a way to accommodate the VERY few people who should be parking here AND also allow the children to use this space. Parking in NYC is a luxury, having children spend time outdoors during their school day is not!
