The Sr. Boys Rugby Team was recently removed from the Richmond AA Rugby League because of consumption of alcohol during their tour to California. We realize that we have severely violated rules and laws instated by the Richmond School District. However, we believe that our season should not be banned for the following reasons: -Our imprudent actions should not damage our school\'s pride and our school\'s team spirit -We feel that we are a part of a special organization that can be successful in the sport. -Playing rugby keeps us more disciplined and is a way of keeping us off of the streets. -We can develop skills such as teamwork and leadership. These qualities would otherwise be hard to learn. -We take pride in representing McNair Secondary and are truly regretful of our wrong-doings. Most of the individuals on this team are playing rugby for the first time and possibly the last time. All we ask, is for a second chance. We understand, our actions cannot go unpunished. However, we wish to repay the school by representing McNair and repairing the image that we have damaged. We are willing to accept anything as alternative punishment including, providing service to the school and the community. Please do not deny us of our passion.

I just looked at the screen and saw 250 signatures which is wild because I honestly thought this would just blow over or get ignored by everyone but you all are proving me wrong. It is crazy how many people actually care about this team getting back on the field especially with how much we messed up lately and I am just sitting here staring at my computer feeling stunned.

Seeing all these names show up really makes me feel like there is a path forward for us despite everything that happened. I keep thinking about how much we just want to get back on that field and repair the damage and honestly I am just overwhelmed by the support right now.

We are getting almost to one hundred signatures and I really want to hit that mark because it shows the school board we are serious about this. If you know anyone else who might care about this please tell them about it right now because I keep pacing around my living room wondering if we can actually pull this off.

Kids will be kids. They messed up but destroying their whole season is just overkill. Give them a chance to fix it.

Everyone makes mistakes when they are young. Let them play and learn from it instead of just kicking them off the team.

Rules are rules but they should be able to redeem themselves with community service or something. Dont take the season away.

Total joke that the school is doing this. One mistake and they ruin a whole year for these boys. Let them play!

Let them play. They know they messed up. Stop punishing them so harshly.
