Sue and Neal Mansour, the owners of Speedy Pit Stop (Valero) on 7th St. & Thomas in Phoenix, Arizona are two of the sweetest people I know. They know all of the neighbors (and our kids) by name, we can't escape without an ice cream and a hug, one or both of them are almost always working, their lot and store are always neat and clean, people are allowed to hold charity car washes in their lot with permission, and it makes me happy to know the family I'm giving my money to. So why can't they be allowed to sell beer and wine? Well that's a good question... They have been told more than once it's because the caddy corner church is in too close of a proximity, yet the church is in favor of supporting the license to ensure they can compete - and thus stay in business. Directly across the street (and closer to the church) is a Circle K that is allowed to sell beer and wine. There are often homeless people pan-handling outside of Circle K, the lot is often a mess, and you can sense the distinct difference between "corporation with employees" and "family-owned and run business" from the minute you step in the door. Just two blocks south down the street, there is another market that's allowed to sell beer and wine. Not only is this unfair and unjust, it serves to destroy the very core principles our country was built upon. We must support our local mom and pop-run businesses and help them succeed by allowing them to at least compete against large corporations by giving people a choice as to where they'd rather spend their hard-earned dollars. Please help support Sue and Neal, and our neighborhood gas and convenience store, by signing this petition. Please also list your address (or neighborhood) in the comment section and don't bother signing as "anonymous" or it holds no weight.  Thank you in advance.
