Emerald Estates is one of the original communities in Whistler spanning forty years and continues to be overlooked in providing safe travel along the stretch of highway through it. We the undersigned are in support of the needed highway infrastructure upgrades required to address the increased traffic and noise throughout this community by establishing safe exit and entrances to the highway, merge lanes, traffics lights, pedestrian controlled crosswalks and noise absorbing pavement.

Seeing this take off like this is honestly surreal because I remember when it was just me typing in the kitchen wondering if anyone else felt the same way about the noise and the dangerous turns. It is so validating to realize the community is truly behind this effort even though it feels like a total whirlwind right now.

Almost got rear ended twice just trying to turn into my own drive. The traffic is way to fast now and people just dont pay attention. Needs a turn lane bad.

TRYING TO GET THE KIDS ACROSS THE ROAD IS A NIGHTMARE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HIT.

Crossing the highway from the park is tricky some weekends at 60km/hour, now with children, senior parents or dogs it is dangerous. Now when you turn off the highway into Emerald estates cars go around you, at 60 km/hour, with posted speeds of 80km someone is going to get hurt. I agree the speeds need to be reestablished to 60km and proper exits and entrances need to be established. Chris Armstrong
