I am campaigning to improve road safety on our housing scheme here in Banchory.
Every other street here in the Hill Of Banchory has Speed bumps or some form of traffic calming. However, Sycamore Road/Way/Place don't have any provisions to calm traffic.
The area is a 20 MPH zone however many drivers don't stick to this speed limit.
Speeding is particular problem on a Saturday Evening and night. Local “boy racers” use Sycamore as if it was Silverstone.
I myself have children, a daughter of 11 and a son who is coming up for 2. There are many young families here and we all want our children to be safe whilst playing outside.
To make things worse, all along each street there are no pavements, which means no safe area to walk on. It's an ongoing issue that many parents here would like to see addressed
We parents here would like to see action being taken to improve the safety before there is a serious accident. There has already been a near miss where a young boy was hit on his bike. Thankfully he escaped injury.
The safety of our children is paramount.

Lots of children living in this street. The lack of pavements/volume of traffic is a concern for those living there
BOY RACERS ARE A NIGHTMARE AT NIGHT. NEED SPEED BUMPS ASAP.
Scary to think my grandkids play out here with no path. Something needs to change.
Every time I walk my dog down Sycamore I have to jump onto the grass because cars are flying past. Its a joke.
