NY State Bill A00556 is stuck in the Education committee trying to be passed to implement curricula into school districts that provide specific interventions to children with Dyslexia and other Phonological disabilities or differences.

The implementation of this bill will provide these children with the ability to receive education in a way that the can read and learn comprehensively and effectively. This allows children with Dyslexia and other Phonological disabilities to receive services that ensure them to get proper education. School districts will have to submit annual reports to the Department of Education and regents of that state, identifying the specific interventions and guidelines that are being implemented. As well as stating these interventions to the caregivers to ensure that they are satisfied with the education their child is receiving.

The passing of this bill will not only allow teachers to have a more positive effect on their students learning, but OT's can play a vital role in this implementation.

Please pass this bill. My daughter deserves to learn just like everybody else.

ABOUT TIME. Kids get left behind because the system is stuck in the past.
