Dr.HarshaVardhan ji

Hon'ble Minister for Health, India

and

Shri.Nithin Gadkari ji

Hon'ble Minister for Roads & Highways, India

Dear Sir,

Sub : Special Trauma Care Centers for every 50 KM on NHAI and 10 Lakh Accidental Insurance with Toll Gate Receipt.

Kindly build Special Government Trauma Care Centers for every 50 KM in the state of Telangana and other states in India. Most of the private hospitals are not showing interest to help accident victims for various reasons and Local Government hospitals are busy with other regular patient services. We have noticed many Government hospitals lacking Trauma Care facilities. Accidents victims are traveling for about 4 or 5 hours to get medical support and many lost their lives due to Non-Availability of Trauma Care in Golden Hour (First One Hour after accident).

Please Plan for 10 Lakh Accidental Insurance National Scheme for every Toll Plaza receipt on NHAI to help accident victims' families. We have seen many people including pedestrians dying on the Highways due to poor maintenance of Highways, Service roads, Signboards and Rash Driving Issues. It would be of great help to the families, if Govt of India and NHAI provide Accidental Insurance with each toll plaza receipt.

Hence we request Government of India to help in this regard.

Thanking you.

From,

Sudheer Jalagam

Updates

November 6, 2019

The stories shared in the comments regarding the lack of immediate medical care on our highways remain both sobering and necessary to highlight. I am currently drafting a formal briefing for the Ministry to ensure these firsthand accounts of the golden hour crisis are properly presented.

November 6, 2019

The momentum behind this proposal indicates a widespread desire for improved trauma infrastructure on our national highways. This growing collective focus reinforces the urgency of addressing the critical gaps in emergency medical services.

Every time I travel on the highway I worry about accidents. We need these centers now because travel time to hospitals is way too long. Good initiative.
