Speak Up for SCRA

We (the undersigned) are SCRA members who want to preserve the friendly atmosphere at SCRA, in which people socialize with their neighbors and kids play in the pool. While we recognize that the swim team is enjoyed by many member families and is an important part of SCRA, we feel that the amount of pool space now allocated to PASA practice, and the large numbers of non-members coming and going is having an undesirable impact on our club. Swim team should not exclude member adults and children from access to the pool during prime hours, nor should it detract from our larger community purpose. We believe that SCRA should serve the recreational needs of its members before it extends space to outside groups. We ask the board to join with us in allocating resources in a way that is consistent with our goals as a community club, and in evaluating the reasonable extent of non-member participation in SCRA teams and programs. We would like a transparent process, in which all the information is available to the membership as a whole, and in which meetings are open and well publicized.
