We the citizens of the Town of Southington, CT, petition the Town Council, to approve a referendum for the November 2014 ballot, asking the people of the Town of Southington to approve a Pool for the Town High School.

Our High School boy and girls swim teams currently practice at a facility that offers them neither the time nor the proper equipment for the teams to be successful in their division. Our teams only get in 75 minutes of swim practice time per day at the Southington Y pool and our dive team must get their own transportation so they can practice in the Plainville HS pool. Other teams in our division are able to practice together as a team, at the same facility, for a time predicated at the coaches’ discretion.

It is time for our Town Council to take up the idea of adding a HS pool and giving our children a facility that will not only allow them to get in the practice they need to succeed as a team but adding a facility that the town can be proud of.
