Aviemore needs the swimming pool especial for kids. There is a lot of rivers etc and kids need to know how to swim to give them the best chance for survival if they ever need it

Our kids would be devastated not to be able to go to the pool in Aviemore, its a regular haunt for us and we always go and spend money in the resort while we're there on ice-cream or coffees or a visit to the shop!

Locals use the highlife scheme, to access activities which they could not otherwise afford if they were no longer available locally. The cost of travelling to Inverness would mean many children would not learn to swim, the one sport / social skill which could ultimately save their lives.

Broken promises as always.
Let us never forget that as a director of the Stakis Group Macdonald himself was one of the chief advocates to sign the order to close the Aviemore Centre pool and set the ball rolling for the closure and removal of the ice rink.

Closing off this facility to highlife members would fail those swimmers in Strathspey and Badenoch. Considering our home grown young swimmers and Swim Scotlands success. Shame on those who support this decision.

An essential resource for locals, via a contract between two agencies that seem incapable of communicating effectively. Why does it take a petition and community action each time the contract is due to be renewed?

Highland Highlife access to the pool is a valued asset to the community and one that should be protected

Its like Deja Vu! Hopefully someone somewhere will see sense. It’s not just the pool the locals use, we use the cafe, soft play and cinema and if it wasn’t for the locals these things would have closed a long time ago as the majority of the time it’s only locals in these places

I love my local pool and don't want to loose the use of it. I can't afford to pay as a non resident.

It would be a shame to lose this facility but it isn’t McDonald’s that’s the problem, it is Highland Council. They have to consider building a swimming pool. We shouldn’t be relying on handouts from a Holiday Resort.

A backward step that isn't oin the best interests of either McDonalds or the local community. Time for a rethink.

Without the pool in Aviemore the kids will have to make the 80 mile trip to Inverness to learn to swim!
