The NB School Closure process under NB Reg 409 is an "express train" to a pre-determined destination. Giving you a month to save your school and calling it a "sustainability" exercise is simply preposterous. Time for direct action!

Our children went to Dorchester School and we loved it. We are now grandparents and would love for the school to stay open. It is truly a wonderful school!

Such a beautiful school shouldn't be taken away from our children, current and future. The world needs more of these, not less.

This beautiful little school has fostered many minds of children. To lose such a truly wonderful school would be a real shame. We are losing too many rural schools that foster each and every child inside its walls. I have many fond memories of this school and its wonderful teachers.

I went to DHS. Two years in a row I had to leave to have surgery and missed the winter and some of the fall term each year. My parents were pleased with most of the teachers in that they went the extra mile for me. One took time from his schedule to visit, lend me books. Two or three offered me extra help after school if I needed it. My mother wanted me to write the tests and have them graded although I was not credited with the mark for that term. Most of the teachers did this for her.
Bullying did not seem to be a big problem at the time and I just don't understand why it is allowed to go on in a lot of schools nowdays. A large number of the students grew up and had responsible jobs becoming teachers, nurses, police officers, secretaries, guards. Many had other talents which were significant in the arts, writing books, music. Someone must have sent them for these lessons or encouraged them in our small village. I do hope the school is allowed to remain open as the closing of these schools means the loss of a way of life. I also disagree with children under 12 having to travel more than a few minutes from home.

My stepson is currently a student at DCS, we noticed a significant improvement in his grades since moving to a smaller school. I also have a 5month old and had hoped she would also be able to attend DCS. I think the school is extremely important part of our community.
