SolarCity provides the infrastructure for society as a whole to provide its own energy through a program which is progress driven and not profit driven. The whole concept works in the favour of the consumer and in the favour of humanity in general. The concept works only on the good will of a few people who want change and are making it happen. The idea works like this:
1)You pay a monthly fee probably less than your current energy supplier.
2)Solar panels are installed free of charge.
3)After a period of time you will have payed off the solar panels installed and you will then own them.
4)After that point you are a self sufficient organism. Providing your own energy.
5) Once the panels have been installed you can connect your electric car to charge it off of the energy you are collecting.
The people behind SolarCity are changing the world as we know it and it's about time South Africa was included in this energy revoloution. Are you tired of load shedding? Are you tired of paying bills that are just way too high? Are you ready for SolarCity in South Africa? If so show your support and speak out. Show your interest in this initative expanding to South Africa.

The volume of support has secured us a meeting with energy stakeholders to discuss the viability of this infrastructure model in the local market. I am currently drafting a formal proposal to outline the logistics of this rollout. Stay tuned for further updates regarding our discussions.

Go Solar & wind & end the corrupt oil industry and its destruction of our future!
Eskom is killing us with these prices and the constant blackouts. We seriously need real alternatives here before the grid just gives up entirely.

Great Idea i am willing to drive the process and formally approach the Rive brothers to invest in SA . Not sure what the point if for a petition . We have an energy crises and Solar City is primed to be a game changer in SA .....
