The Illinois cannabis tax and regulation act HB 1438 along with Governor J.B Pritzker gave a false promise to black and brown minority groups. This false promise was rolled on the premises of being the first state in the nation to offer these entrepreneurs a chance to get into the predominantly white ran industry. For years and years black and brown minorities were prosecuted for the cultivation and distribution of this crop. Big business and political ties and insider information allowed these corporations to tilt the process into their favor while excluding black and brown entrepreneurs from having the opportunity. For decades black and brown minorities have been told to wait and be patient that the system works and that there is equality in everything and in all aspects. We the people have waited long enough. We the people have been pushed aside and left out of opportunity to better ourselves. Our time of waiting is over. By signing this petition you acknowledge that our time of waiting has come and is over.

The stories coming in from people shut out of this industry confirm that the delay is intentional. Call your state representative today and demand they explain why these promises went to big corporations instead of the community.

Sick of seeing these big corporations get all the licenses while the people who actually suffered get nothing. Fix this now.
