Smoque is an institution in Chicago.
While I am a huge fan of Weber Grills, it’s time for Weber to go back to the drawing board on this product name. Great local companies should respect each other especially as Illinois is under attack from others in this country.

Smoque BBQ and it's owners has been a much loved staple in the community since it opened. They have earned every single piece of recognition they get and their hard work and dedication doesn't deserve to get overshadowed.

I feel a kinship to Smoque BBQ and their Company and have been a Big Fan for years! I think that a Companies Trademark name is their Identity and for that reason I sign here to ask Weber to retract their illegal use of this Trademarked Name.

Smoque and Weber are both BBQ related businesses. The restaurant came first. Drop the name, Weber.

Smoque BBQ IS barbecue for our family, in our neighborhood (and over much of Chicago - and far, far afield, where even ex-pat friends remind us how much they still crave the special tastes and textures of Smoque), even when we struggle to match its gustatory excellence on our own grills at home. Many of use have also been long-traditional, loyal users of Weber grills in our backyards, so it pains me greatly to see another highly favored local brand presence behaving so badly and negligently toward a well established brand paragon in the Chicago barbecue scene. This persistence in this current "name" usurpation is just an act of blockheaded big-bucks bullying, much too prevalent a business practice in our world today, and totally counter to the free-spirited, open-air All-American backyard nature of BBQ culture that Weber has always sought to convey. Better you find a way to somehow collaborate your branding with Smoque BBQ than undertake to bulldoze your way through an expensive and publically disgracing legal slog. A fight like this with local favorite Smoque BBQ could cost Weber a lot of future Big Green Egg users.
