Back off, Weber-Stephen - rebrand your product and leave this well-known business alone. Your recent shifts in manufacturing from US-based to overseas has eroded my confidence in your brand. This petty move by you further cements this.

Everyone in Chicago knows SMOQUE as some of the best BBQ in the business. And Weber as the best on grills. Let's not confuse the two. SMOQUE = BBQ

Long time Chicagoan, now part time Chicagoan in retirement.
I’ve enjoyed Smoque BBQ many times. I also use Weber products but disagree with their unfair and unethical use of the Smoque name, and cannot plead ignorance as a Chicagoland headquartered business. I hope Smoque BBQ prevails in this conflict they didn’t ask for.

I have 6 Webers on my patio and will have to check on the status of this action before I invest in another.
Met Barry from SMOQUE at a local BBQ group meeting years ago and enjoyed his company and his food!!!
My family lives around the corner at Pulaski and Irving and we eat there often. Good Luck!!

This place has been in business long before you named your new product. I would think you'd have found out if the name was already taken, so this feels like just didn't care.

the original creators of the use of the name “smoque” are the owners of smoque bbq in Chicago. they’re a longstanding business, and are very deserving of the acknowledgment of their product/product name from such a worldwide company like Weber.
