We the signees of this petition would like to make a formal request for our local Palm Beach County beaches to be designated Non-Smoking. We request action from our Palm Beach County Commissioners and other elected offices. We the signees recognize this as a problem that needs immidiate action. The accumulation of cigarette butts at our local beaches poses numerous problems for resident and visiting beach goers. Local beaches are known for clean white sand and clear blue water do to Palm Beach Countys close proximity to the Gulf Stream. The accumulation of cigarette butts and other trash has created an eye sore for beach goers, an unnatural hazard for local wildlife and a health hazard for all who visit the beaches of Palm Beach County. Please take our request into consideration and designate Palm Beach County beaches Non-Smoking.
