The future of Saint Margaret Mary (SMM) School is at stake. We, the undersigned, do not feel that amends can be made, and that trust can be restored, with the current leadership/administration, based on ethical issues that have transpired during the 2018-2019 school year.
We need leadership/administration that will lead our school with the following qualities:
Integrity
Honesty
Proper training
Accountability
Compassion
Academic excellence
Discipline
Honor
Truthfulness
Transparency
Reliability
Also, by signing this petition, you support hiring a dynamic leader, who has the above mentioned skill set, plus the following:
- Master’s Degree – per the Archdiocese
- Practicing Catholic
- Responsible for creating a nurturing environment, favorable of faith formation and learning
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience, at the appropriate grade levels, as an Assistant Principal (or equivalent) within the Catholic school system
- Provide evidence of previous success in a Catholic school
- Ability to effectively demonstrate leadership skills necessary to be an elementary school Principal
- Ability to effectively communicate any/all necessary information to faculty/staff, parents and students, building cooperation, and a shared vision for the school
- Establish an effective rapport with faculty/staff, students and parents

I honestly never thought this would gain so much speed and honestly it feels like a heavy weight is finally drifting off my shoulders. Reading through what everyone is saying reminds me why we even started this whole thing in the first place because honestly the confusion and lack of real transparency has been exhausting for everyone involved.

The communication from the board has been a joke all year. We deserve better.
Everything is falling apart and nobody wants to admit why. So tired of the excuses.
This petition is no longer valid as of June 7, 2019. Thank you to all who have signed.
Today, SMM announced a change in leadership for the 2019-2020 academic year. The exodus of experienced faculty is still an issue warranting urgent action from the SMM administration. It would be worthwhile for parents to respond and ask that SMM to immediately reach-out to the faculty members who had previously resign or otherwise yet to be offered Contracts.
Please do not stop signing because of the letter you received this evening. Keep signing!
I understand a decision has been made to keep Mrs. Canter for one more year.
I am so disappointed in where we have ended up.
