I frequently journey this ‘race-track’ road (by foot and car). It is a favourite alternative commuter access route to Sandbach and Crewe and needs to have a 30-mph speed restriction.
I find it hazardous to negotiate, particularly at night and during inclement weather conditions.

As someone who cycles through this part, I always find cars bombing through the lanes! No regard for walkers of cyclists for that matter.

I do feel for people who are afraid to walk the lanes and some posts here are quite upsetting. One must hope that a supportive and prompt response be forth coming.

I agree that this area needs a speed limit of 30 mph for the safety of walkers, dog walkers, cyclists, horses and residents accessing their properties.

The speed and type of traffic passing along this route is completely inappropriate for the road. I personally live in fear of the traffic and it has a huge impact on my quality of life. The noise created by some of these vehicles, even the agricultural ones is deafening but yet everybody hurtles along the route without a care in the world. I've recently informed the police of a motorcyclist who passes through the village twice daily around 7am and 7pm who rides like a lunatic and creates so much noise he wakes my children and I would urge anybody else to do the same. Nobody else apart from drivers can possibly enjoy these roads at the moment.

I live on church lane and work at Smallwood c.p and unfortunately due to the speed and amount of traffic and no footpaths myself and my daughter are unable to walk to work as been forced into the hedge on several occasions

After 8 cars ending up in our garden demolishing walls our own vehicles and our garden etc. We had more then enough of the speed on the A 50 trough Smallwood, the council blaims it on drivers error, How many more times do we have to experience this.

It is rediculous that traffic is allowed to travel at 60mph on these roads which in some places is hardly wide enough for two vehicles to pass.

I walked through the village last weekend with my dog - something I've never done as an adult, probably 30 yrs since I walked the lanes. The traffic was a real concern and it was a Sunday! Goodness knows how bad it must be on a weekday! I used to walk to school and back and it was safe, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be now... something needs to be done.
