Having the government 'endorse' the use of such a detrimental drug is a serious concern. But facilitating it as SLO county is doing is hard to understand. I do hope that citizens can provide the common sense that our elected leaders apparently lack.

I believe that once you over look your responsibilities for the people that your supposed to in good faith protect from a lot of uncertainties on Cannabis in our County! Please take the unlawful things out there that have not been taken care of yet!
It is still not oked by Federal Law yet! Shouldn’t Federal Laws have any matters? No Banking, Noway to monitor how much taxes to pay. That’s just a few
matters that should be taken in
before turning this County into Hippy Ville and Hate Ashberry!
You can’t smoke cigarettes in most local towns but it’s ok to smoke Cannabis behind your backs as their walking down the streets! As for them comparing it to alcohol ok then do we need another open AG manufacturing plant opening up to add to the vices we through have made through the years! No!! It hasn’t even been approved by the FDA!! Take your time! I hate to see this Beautiful Paradise full of Cartels and slime!

As per James Mills’ comment above, read the article the LA Times published today regarding all of the issues Santa Barbara County is having by jumping on the cannabis bandwagon without considering the rights and needs of citizens of the county. The effects are abhorrent. This from a news source that is widely acknowledged for leaning to the left.

Pay attention to what has happened in Santa Barbara County, as detailed in the LA Times article dated June 12, 2019. Cannabis money, rather than citizen concerns, is driving this explosion of cannabis permits being granted before residential effects are understood.

I don't live in Creston, but it would seem that these same concerns would apply to many small town communities in other rural areas of the county.

These pot growers are outside entities and corporations who want to set up operations in Creston for one reason only, our aquifer. There are plenty of dormant acres in the Central Valley away from small town communities that would work just as well..., but for the abundance of water. In reviewing the tightly-drawn proposal for the grow in downtown Creston, my bet is that after a year or so, all regulations and oversight by the County will be nonexistent. Any problems, (crime, traffic, air pollution, pollution of the Huer Huero) will fall to the residents and the County will abdicate responsibility -- other than collecting what they see as a tax windfall.

The time to act to protect the beauty, character, and community of this rural area that we love is now. Please be aware, be responsible, and represent the people who live in the Creston community. Please don’t be apathetic.

And stop our County officials from bullying their rural constituents into swallowing their pot vision for SLO County and letting cannabis farmers bully their way pinto taking over rural neighborhoods.

Please do not bring this corporation or business to the beautiful rustic town of Creston. This is one of the last true rural towns in our county and bringing this kind of attention will bring no good to the community.

We do not want this type of business in our community. As a member of a 6 generation resident of Creston, business owner in "downtown" Creston, and a mother of a daughter that will (maybe) be attending Creston Elementary School, I strongly feel that this element in our community is detrimental in regard to safety, fiscal impact, and the future of our burgeoning business development in town.

Medical Marijuana has been around for 10yrs without encroaching on residential neighborhoods the likes of what we have seen since 2018. This is NOT about medical marijuana; it is about recreational marijuana infiltrated residential neighborhoods where it doesn't belong. All for the benefit of those who sell it for nonmusical uses outside of the state. This must be stopped and just continue the medical marijuana cultivation as before. What was the problem back then???
