Responsible Cannabis Ordinance Amendments: A Petition to the SLO County Board of Supervisors

Put these operations in big cement tilt-ups by the freeways in the big city- Not appropriate anywhere else

Please no more weed growing. We care about a safe community and preservation of our precious water supply. Thank you.

I adamantly oppose any of these cannabis ordinances

Bald eagles and the California Condor are found in the area of a Greenmilk LLC proposed cannabis farm and cannabis manufacturing plant. This land is zoned agricultural and I don't understand how a manufacturing plant and offices qualify as agriculture. The condor is a critically endangered species and the bald eagle is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. How can the Board of Supervisors approve a project that will negatively impact bald eagles and the California condor.

Marijuana grows do not belong in rural agricultural areas. They are a commercial business and should be located in commercial zoning areas.

We do not want growers in our neighborhoods.

it is the wrong direction for the planning Dept, to approve any project that changes of existing land use, (Ag land to Commercial use) for Cannabis or to allow the applicate to plant in areas of residential,

No pipelining. Horrid place to put this kind of business out here. WAY to close to families residences, and the smell will 9 times out of 10 drift towards homes close by. Narrow and private road will bring too much traffic. Lots of older folks out here close by proposed site,that won't appreciate the added noise and partying either. Please don't take our country lifestyle away...that won't make anything better for any of us.

I am totally against Cannabis in Ag areas where there are homes! I have lived here all my life and my ancestors. Why would you want to ruin this area of pristine living with this crap! My husband and I saved up years of hard work to finally buy what we wanted to be our home and to raise our family as I’m sure many have done likewise. Do we want our County to be ruined like their doing to our state! The Law is The Law and No One is Above the Law! This is not even legal by the state yet and your giving out these permits. This should be a no brainer. In the Huasna area we have been fighting this for Three years and you kept giving them An extension! They don’t pay their taxes and you still let them apply for their permit! I’m sorry It’s not right for you to give hard working people building permits and charge them up the ying yang and them let some Cannabis grower come and take their solitude and dream away. That just cruel! I hope you will consider how you would feel if someone would put a turkey,chicken, pig farm next to you! I’m Asking you nice please consider where you are allowing these factories and farms to be located! It could be you! Tina Power

I am against cannabis farm grows in rural neighborhoods where people live and children go to school. The skunk odor and chemical masking odors directly affect my health. The odors are offensive and unhealthy. These farms should be at least 10 miles away from any family home or school and not be a drain on well water that most rural homeowners depend on. Thank for your attention to this matter.

It may seem to the cannabis industry that a requirement that limits cannabis cultivation to 1,500 feet from a residence is too restrictive. A setback distance of 1,500 feet from a residence impacts only an existing residence, many of which are in the AG zone. Neighbors with land yet to be developed are affected by the shadow cast across the property line by the growers, and it is the neighbors that take the loss while increasing the setback from 300 feet to 1,500 feet from the property line for cultivation results in larger parcels in the AG zone. The use of a property by one owner should not be allowed to take away inalienable rights from others if the basic tenants of the land use ordinance are to be maintained.

I am dismayed to see that cannabis farms are even being considered in SLO county.

Can't we learn from areas that have allowed this? It has been a disaster for local surrounding residents. SLO Co. Supervisors need to get the dollar signs out of their eyes and the pot farms out of our area. Public health and safety issues should make this a no go.

Cannabis is not compatible with our community.

Please don't ruin our rural areas where people live with fertilizers, traffic, and smell. The roads in the Parkhill/Pozo area of Santa Margarita can't handle the traffic.

Cannabis and hemp should not be grown near homes. People live in our beautiful rural areas and should not be subjected to the potential health impacts of noise, air quality, and loss of water required to subsidize this crop. Environmental review should be mandated not waived for proposed hemp grows.
