We, the undersigned believe that heavy metal is a culture and Slayer is its spokesperson, and that this culture should be recognized with an international holiday.

During the last century, when our societies have become pluralistic, we have seen the rise of many different cultures, some inherited and some not. Heavy metal, as a spirit, a values system, and a series of rituals and a social code, qualifies as a culture.

Slayer, as one of the most dynamic and intense heavy metal bands ever created, and also as a compiler of metal thought and imagery through lyrics and graphics, represents the best voice for this rising culture.

Show your tolerance for other cultures by allowing us recognition through an international holiday dedicated to heavy metal, and of course the listening to Slayer.
