Final supporters
Look at Hyde Park now it’s got a slide, swings and a fireman’s pole, but what about the people who are older, the kids who like riding in the community, some people are growing out of that, they need something. Yes there are skate parks in Melbourne but the kids of Kew need something within walking distance. But it can’t happen instantly we need money and people to sign the petition. We have made a petition and have been gathering signatures for a while. We have got 200 signatures and targeting 400 if you happen to be down at the park and we are there please come and sign. I was looking at the empty lot near the shops again and it is just screaming for a half pipe or even just a concrete slab for the kids to actually use. People keep stopping me to talk about the lack of stuff to do around here which makes me think we might be onto something bigger than just a few ramps.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam when I first started talking to people at the park about boards and wheels. It feels like the neighborhood is finally waking up to the fact that we need somewhere to actually go instead of just hanging around the same old swings. Keep talking about it because showing up is half the battle.

My kids have nowhere to ride their boards around here. They end up in the street which is dangerous. Give them somewhere to go.
long overdue. stop ignoring the older kids and build the park.

PLEASE!! been waiting for something like this in Kew for ages. bored kids in the holidays are a nightmare.
