Final supporters
Skaters were unable to test their gold skills due to 3 test days being cancelled due to COVID. Skate Canada refuses to extend the "old" skill test, thus denying skaters who would have tested the opportunity to complete their Gold. They say skaters/coaches knew about the change effective Jan. 2020 with a cut off of July 1st 2021. With not having rinks open just how are they suppose to try them? Learning all the new requirements is unreasonable ,especially for skaters moving on to University. this is very unfair and if we do not advocate for our skaters who will?

As like everything in this Covid world, everyone needs to have the compassion and caring to extend deadlines. It is not the fault of the skaters that they could not meet the set deadline, it is beyond their control.
As skaters have had limited opportunity to train this past year and with multiple test/evaluation days canceled delaying the start of this change until July 2022 is a reasonable request.
Definitely unreasonable of Skate Canada
Given the circumstances of Covid impacting so many of us, denying these skaters the opportunity to achieve this goal is unreasonable.
They should be able to do the test with distancing, to deny them this is very unfair.
Please reconsider this decision. It would seem to be common sense during these times.

This needs to be extended. COVID has taken too much, allow these kids the fairness of completing their tests without starting over
