I am currently in the process of setting up a professional music studio in the Scarborough area. This petition is to show support for the setup of the music studio and show that there is a demand for such a studio in Scarborough.

As many people know, Scarborough has a vibrant music scene for such a small town. In the past couple of years the town has revamped world class venues such as 'The Open Air Theatre' and 'The Spa' bringing in famous musicians from all around the world. However wouldn't it be great to showcase music coming from the town itself? I believe setting up Skarthi Studios would be one step closer to achieving this goal, giving musicians of Scarborough an opportunity to record within a professional environment at a reasonable rate.

At the moment Scarborough only has one recognisable professional recording studio, which is located at the University. For the majority of the year this studio is only open to students of the University and only limited members of the public get the opportunity to work there at select times of the year. Therefore Scarborough is in need of a professional recording studio open for the public all year round.

The petition will be used as evidence of support for an application for funding to the arts council. I have already scouted a location for the music studio and the funding will be used to equip the studio with professional recording equipment.

Please show your support for the setup of Skarthi Studios and help me and the local community put in place a professional recording studio that the town so desperately needs.
