Aberdeen is a beautiful historic ancient city, vibrant multicultural cosmopolitan and the energy capitol of europe. we welcome visitors who come and live and work in our city. we already have 1 mosque in a granite building in the heart of aberdeen university, kings college. just minutes from there there is another mosque occupying a bank and 3 houses in our most ancient & historic cobbled street, the spital. we have found that plans have been around since as early as 2002 for a mega mosque and community village on our north links of the beach. this is classed as greenspace and next to where aberdeen football club have their stadium. plans to expand the club have been refused and some of the grounds were the lack of expansion for community use. the planned new site is at the opposite end of the city and not in favour with all. hearing that this mosque can be granted permission as its "for the community" shocks me to the core. we are a very tolerant city and in our wisdom of the past we have welcomed all religions so that none can dominate. a huge mosque on our beautiful seafrong and golden sands has the most incredible view to the east and the rising sun. we do not want a moque and village which would only be for the use of a tiny muslim % of the population. it would impose on the landscape of people entering the city from the north. it would show a character of aberdeen that is not in keeping with our strong culture and heritage. we all walk the same earth but cannot allow others to trample on our garden and make it the way they want to look! plesase sign this petition and pass to friends. we need the support of the defence league to help us protect our culture and heritage and prevent the spread of islamification of our land. thanks jackie adams
