The noise levels during the evenings in auckland are becoming hazardous to our health. Recent research shows that noise can decrease sleep quality which causes tiredness, fatigue and inflammation.

Lets work together to mitigate the effect of night time noises in our community by bringing a blanket ban to cleaning vehicles, construction, drainage, aeroplanes and non-emergency helicopters over residential areas during peak sleeping hours of 10pm to 5am. This petition is necessary as the council has failed in their duties to look after our well being which has denied us silent nights.

Compliance with existing regulations, and enforcements of these is the key. I believe provisions are already there with Auckland Council, they just need to enforce them: no construction work on Sundays, and no council activities (except police and ambulance helicopters) between 10pm and 7am.

Start with improving the police helicopter to a 2017 machine with lower noise levels, and the ACC to start enforcing some of the regs. Stop being a 9 to 5 downtown operation. We are the rate payers. We pay the bills in this city.

I believe that Auckland council needs to make some realistic and long overdue changes to the Noise Plan, in order to create a safe, healthy place for residents to live. We all know that lack of sleep, and teh stress that comes from it, causes accidents and possibly road rage issues. It is time the people of Auckland were really listened to, and heard. And more complaints/submissions/petitions made

There is a law about noise after 10 , but does not seem to be enforced by council really.
