She worked the same job my daughter did. I've picked up young girls walking the streets far from home and gotten them home safely. Samantha attended my kids' school. It touches me that we know so much more about her in death than we did in life. That the jail would let her killer commit suicide instead of spending the rest of his life in jail after killing at least three people in untenable. Let a day named in her honor remind the jail administration that justice was not done for this girl and her family. Let it remind all of us that this could have been any one of our daughters. Thank you.

I share no connection to Samantha, other than the name. But what I’ve read about her makes her seem like a kind hearted individual. Samantha Koenig should be remembered, not because she was killed by a evil person, but for what Samantha was and what she was going to become. Rest In Peace, Sam.
